Flat Stanley is a great project
By Stephanie

Clip to ScrapBook
I started the Flat Stanley project three years ago when I was a Pre-K teaching assistant (currently teaching this grade level while the teacher is on medical leave). Was lucky to work with a teacher who let me do the "Flat
Stanley project". I was able to adapt "Flat Stanley" to their age level. I drew my own Flat Stanley and made copies. The students colored in their very own FS's. When we had vacations or if the students were going on trips, the students were able to take their FS with them. I made a suitcase and a journal to accompany and then when they came back to school they shared their experiences.
The students loved the project.

You could have the students do their very own FS. I had a cutout of a doll and the students decorated the cutout doll and brought it into school. The students had a blast and we even had a "Flat Stanley board" for "The class of the month bulletin board." It was a huge sucess. Last year the school staff particiapted on a flat staff and to commerate the projects third and final year, the entired school participated in a flat staff.
