Hello new comer to the kinder world. My son is in kinder now and he studied his alphabets in pre-k and just as you mentioned they started with one alphabet a week writing and recognizing it and that really helped alot. Now
that he is in kinder they practice writing their name as well as at least0 6 alphabets a night and it has improved his writing as well as reconizing his alphabets alot. It felt as though he would never catch on but over time and presistance I saw alot of improvement and now he's reading small words on his own and I am extremly proud of the little guy, so proud I get excited just helping
him with his homework. Every week the teacher send a small book with about an 8 pages story in it and it consist of high frequence words. He's reading them like a little pro they really help. Books are SRA Open Court Reading a division of the McGraw-Hill Companies. Columbus , Ohio.

PS. It take good teachers who don't mind asking and researching ways to improve our children education as well as patience and parents doing their part. GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW ADVENTURE. Im sure you will do well with your kinders.
