alphabet activities
By Sue W.

Clip to ScrapBook
1. I use a big beach ball with the alphabet letters written on it. We play "Thumbs Up"in a small group. As we play catch, each person calls out the letter that their right thumb touched as they caught it.

2. I have
an alphabet written on laminated footprint shaped papers. We put a loop of tape behind each and stick them down in order as we sing the alphabet and then again as each person "walks" it.

3. I have a set of sponge letters, designed for painting, but they make a great simple game, each child picks a letter, says the name and tosses it into a little bucket. The kids also like to play
a game by reaching in a bag and feeling a sponge letter and trying to determine what letter it is before removing it from the bag. Then they lay it on a chart on top of the matching letter.
