binders
By Nick

Clip to ScrapBook
I've been using binders for ten years! I wouldn't ever use anything else!

I have the students buy a $10 binder with a zipper.

It's a must! Now days, you can even find them on sale for 2 for $8 bucks!

We divide them
into sections using store-bought dividers. I ask parents to spend an extra fifty cents and buy plastic dividers.

The first scetion is for homework--- complete and incomplete. This way the students shouldn't have to dig looking for homework.

Then, one section per subject, but the last section is just for loose leaf paper. I just started this section in August.

I love this separate

section, because they go to this scetion first without having to look for paper.

But, when they are picking up papers, you have to tell them what section it goes in & make them to it. I mark their behavior for not putting papers in the right sections.

I teach a lot of siblings of previous students, and I always have parents come back to thank me for teaching their kids organization skills.

Good Luck!

Also, binders with zippers keeps special folders, etc. neater. They usually will have a secret compartment to store special items--- money, notes, etc.
