morning routine

Clip to ScrapBook
My children also use hangers to hang up their belongings. The first couple of days I stand at the closet with them and show them the proper way to hang up their things. It takes a while but, it helps. The children have
two folders one for homework and one for notes, notices, graded work...anything that has to go home for parents to see. There are two bins by my desk, one for each folder. When they come in they put their homework folder as is in the homework folder bin. Every day old homework comes out, new homework goes in. I usually check it asap and send it home, but it is not absolutely necessary
that it be done daily. That is why I prefer worksheets to notebooks. My children know that there is a specific place for everything in the classroom, lunch, snack, books, folders, etc. so nothing remains in their backpack during the day. The first couple of days do it with them and remind them of where things go. Have a morning job ready for them, so they know what is expected. My kids are now self sufficient for a half an hour in the morning. It took a lot of traing, but it's worth it! I hope this helps! Jessica
