Worms
By JRuff

Clip to ScrapBook
You could buy fishing worms from Walmart and put the children in groups of 2 let them observe the worms and you take pictures of them doing this list their observations.(Put them on a paper plate first. Then have an eyedropper
and let them put 1 drop of water on the worm record those observation, the put soil on the plate and let the kids record those observation. If you can find a large glass pickle jar you can put soil in it to almost the top and place the still living worms on top of the soil. Cover the jar with black paper on the outside and in about 2 weeks take the paper off and you should be able
to see the burrows that the worms made. You can sprinkle a few drops of water on top of the soil every few days and put in a few apple scraps etc so that they will bring down the soil. You could have the kinders record info. in a little booklet with worms drawn on them later write the text and print it for them and you have a class story. I hope this helps. We used worms last year in my third grade class and I really enjoyed it and so did the kids.
