I had 2 boys that were the same way. If one was out for the day, everything would go smoothly, we'd get our work done, I wouldn't have a headache or be ready to scream by day's end. Even the rest of the class noticed the
difference and even commented on it at times,"We got a lot done (had fun, got free time, etc.)today because Joe wasn't here".
Don't feel like a failure if you recommend that a child be moved to another room. It is the teacher's responsibility to do what is best for the child, to provide a good learning environment. In this case it's an environment without the other child! Your buddy
teacher has obviously noticed the situation as well and perhaps her question is a "door opening" to a solution to the problem.
Chances are, these two have been in the same daycare for some time. From my own experience, kids that spend that much time together end up like battling siblings; they probably see more of each other than they do their own brother or sisters. Imagine how they behave at daycare where things are less structured! My suggestion would be to give them each a break from each other. The daycare center may be very grateful, too!
