Good Ideas
By Mi Vida Loca

Clip to ScrapBook
Certainly the card thing is a great idea. I couldn't think of a better one!

If your a first time sub, and coming into a school where you don't know many teachers at all, maybe vounteer a couple of times, to get to know
the feel of the school.

I did that when we moved from one state to another. I didn't know anyone, not even my neighbor. I went to all the schools (there was 6 of them in my town) and gave my numbers to them. They didn't call me for about a month, so I decided to go volunteer at one of the schools (they was having a book fair). I started talking to some teachers, and gave them my

card. The following week, I had 3 calls. I asked each teacher to spread the word, and before you knew it, I was there 5 days a week. As for the other schools, they called me often, but never got a chance to really introduce myself.

If you know teachers personally, tell them that you are looking to sub X amount of days, and if they could, spread the news that you are available.

It may take some time, but eventually, you'll get called... probably more than you can handle!
