noisy teachers

Clip to ScrapBook
when every we have workshops, it is amazing at how noisy the teachers can be. i let my students discuss answers i pose . they all talk at the same time to their partners. i let them talk, but i also need for them to be
quiet during my lesson time. during my lesson if they talk, i wait. i also give special priviledges . my team (table) captains are the best (cooperative)students at each table. they get a lot of responsiblities, like collecting workbooks, returning library baskets etcc...
the children had trouble after recess after lunch lining up. i should the students where to line up. the next
day, when the whistle blew, only a few lined up. i told them what i expected. i said, those that do not line up will not get centers on friday. on thursday, 3 children were late to line up. the whole class got erasers as prizes. i told the 3 students they had another chance on friday. only 1 student was not on line. at centers all 4 students lost some center time. it was the first week of school and i wanted them to know i meant business. when i finally let them get up for centers, we had a mini discussion, i hope it reinforced the appropriate behaviors.
