Clip to ScrapBook
For addition/subtraction:

Make dice (leaving one side blank to represent zero) and make dots on each side 1-5 (since these are the numbers you are working on now) The student rolls two dice and writes a number sentence
for it...2 + 4 = and then they need to solve it.

Give them unifix cubes (two colors) to make representations of a number sentence...3 blue + 4 red = 7

Place some dominoes into a baggie. Have them count the number of dots on the top (5) and add the bottom number to it (3) 5+3=8

Clocks:
Use a stamp and make analog clocks representing different times. Then write the digital or written

notation (7 o'clock) on a separate card. Mix them up, face down and play clock memory.

Counting:
I give my kids beads and a pipe cleaner. They must put a specific number of beads on and group them by ten. So...10 blue beads...an index card with an already punched hole and cut to size is next...they must write 10,10 more red beads...index card that they label 20, etc. They are reusable. They also love to do the same with noodles, wood beads, etc. It's easy to vary also.

Goodluck! I hope these are helpful.
