Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! I'm not sure that there is any one thing I could tell you that makes my class run so smoothly ~ no matter what type of kids I have. I will say that I have a procedure for everything!! I mean everything! This way, there
is never a question as to when and how something should be done. Of course, with some classes my procedure may not be working so we have to come up with a new plan. That's ok as long as it is very clear and you stick to it. So many times teachers stick to the procedures for the first few weeks of school and then they get lax. These are normally the teachers that are frustrated by Christmas
and feel that their class is unrully! I don't care that it is the middle of Oct. if they are not follwing a procedure correctly, I reteach.

I hope I don't sound like a grump! We have a lot of fun in my class and my kids now that I truly care about them. But, they also know what is expected and what is unacceptable. If you stick to procedures from day 1, it's easier and more manageable when you have some unstructured days at the end of the year.
