Clip to ScrapBook
You will always have a parent that doesn't approve of what you do. It is very hard, as I still struggle with this, to let it roll off your back and focus on the parents who are happy. These parents are usually the ones
who want you to do all the work and they don't have to do anything to help their child. I have one right now and the child doesn't belong in my room. He is new and the parent purposely failed to mention his special needs before enrolling him. Now it's all my fault because his grades stink! Not happening! I have the support of my principal and I just ignore her. If my principal gets
the guts he will tell the parent that we don't have the services her child needs (I teach in a private school) it might be the best thing, but mom is in such denial that she will just move him from place to place. Anyway, my point is don't let her ruin your self-esteem as a teacher. I hate the no child left behind act. It puts all the responsibility on the teacher and I'm a firm believer in it being a joint effort between school and family!
Good luck and hold your head high!! It takes a special person to be a teacher!!
