Elem.
By Mi Vida Loca

Clip to ScrapBook
Elem. is a hard one for me. Most of my experience is for middle school aged children.

If the entire class misbehaves,I would give them a time out to think about what they are doing, then have a 5 minute discussion on how
to correct it. Maybe tell them that you are leaving names on the board of students who break the rules for the teacher to deal with, or tell them that you are going to contact their parents.

Liek I said, this is a hard one for me since I don't have much experience with that grade level.

In the classes that I have had, I have been real lucky to have great students. I am not saying

that they all were perfect, I just thought of it as my garden, and it needed to be weeded.... I weeded out the trouble makers, and the day went smoothly.

A suggestion though, if you find that one or two children are the cause of disruptions, pay more attention to those because most of the time, that is what they are looking for.... attention.

I have found that even thought the teacher left someone to be the helper for the day, I created "special" things for that one troubled child to do.

Sorry that I can't be much help in the age group.
