parties
By Avery

Clip to ScrapBook
I work in a title 1 school and the families don't have the money to send in. I'm wondering if that may be the case with you. It seems that you won't get any more. First off, I only have a harvest party. We have students
who don't celebrate Halloween. I make it and all the other parties (holiday, Valentines, end of the year) very low keyed. I don't do decorations or games. First off, Money...Parents will send in things for the kids to eat and drink. They come through for our compliment parties also. I will get a video and let the kids watch a movie. They love that. Many of them have limited experience
watching movies and they are really enjoyed. Plus they are learning social behavior of how to behave in a movie theater.
As far as gifts for Christmas go. You can get each of them a book from Scholastic for $1.oo. Start looking now. They'll have specials soon. I always get mine early. Yo can also get them pencils. I give my students a gel pen and black note paper also. You can buy a big package of pensat Sam's Club for not much money. Hope this gives you some ideas. I use to get all worried about parties...but now I just go with the flow and make it easy on myself.
