The students get in a horseshoe-type formation. The teacher calls the word (ONLY ONCE---and it will not be repeated during "the round" as this game encourages paying attention AND listening.) Teacher: "The word is play." *If a student calls a wrong letter, he/she must sit down and the next student in line must call the correct letter. (This is the point where "the The last person standing is "THE WINNER". I give the winner a SPARKLEY STICKER and that person can call the next set of words. On the first day the list is introduced, I often leave the list in view and play the game. It's more fun on days when the list is out of view.
