You need to plan for it
By Cathy-Dee

It does get easier the more years you teach, but it often comes down to time-management.

I specifically plan for weekends off and evenings off where I'm not staying late and I'm not heading into school to do more work.
You can teach for 20 years and still be able to put in 20 hour work days so you have to be the one to make decisions on what is too much.

I agree with the idea that you do not have to have perfect plans in place your first year in every subject area. Pick several units in each subject area to work on and just do what you have to in order to get by in the other units for this year.

Plan

relaxation moments for each evening before bed. If you are working on school things right up to bed time chances are you'll be dreaming about school. So put away school work at least an hour before bed. Get out a novel and read, take a long, hot bath, watch a favorite TV show and then hit the sack.

The best teachers are the ones who still have a life outside of teaching. These are the ones who do not burn out as quickly or perhaps never burn out because they pace themselves and set realistic goals for what they can accomplish.
