Your advice is really true! Feeding people bakery seems to work wonders.

Really, people, teachers are just like the people you went to high school or college with. Some are competetive, sneaky and backstabbing.
Most are really just decent people who are overwhelmed with their jobs. Cut everybody some slack. Some of the veterans have been burned too many times to really care, and I feel for them too. I guess you need to experience a few seasons of life (loss of a loved one, significant illness, problems with your own kids, etc) before you get a grip on all this. Lots of people are carrying

around a lot of burdens and some days are just too overwhelming for them. My job is to be joyful in life, but I don't expect others who don't believe that to always behave nicely to me. I'm always shocked when teachers mention others who forget to say hi in the hallway. I know a few staff who are depressed and I think all they can do is just survive. They are not capable of reaching out to me. That's just the way it is!

When someone ignores you, maybe go bring them a donut the next day and just say "I thought something was heavy on your heart yesterday and I thought of you." I bet you would have a new friend. Don't hold it against them.
