I am busting a gut laughing here.... Wish I could meet every single teacher on this board for a big bash!!!

Just got home from "Open House" night at school. I got to guide 10 parents around and answer questions.

Dropped
by the drugstore yesterday & spent $$$ on things for the feet, like corn pads, plasters & etc.
We're in "fast & furious" mode now, with IEP meetings (before school)- working tonight until 9:00, marks coming due, timelines all over the place, stress mounting, Ped days--more training for school reform.
Stick us in a room with a few "experts"- (some of whom haven't been in a classroom

since Davy Crockett donned his coonskin hat...but I digress)- listen to them blab about how the reform will change our teaching styles.. a couple of workshops on this and then we're experts.

OK, whatever you say.

Picture a GP being yanked into a conference room...told how to do a brain operation, shown a 30 min. video of some hotshot medic in Timbuctoo demonstrating the perfect brain op....

You watch, you get a 10 pound handout--

then, BAM! "You're a brain surgeon."

"Now go out there and operate. And we're watching, so do a good job."

It's the Emperor's New Clothes.

"Sayyyyy, aren't you a brain surgeon?"

"Who, me?"

"Yeah."

"Why do you ask?"

"I saw you coming out of that conference room."

"Er.. whatever you say."
