emergency kit
By bonnie

Clip to ScrapBook
My school all got together as a grade levels and put together emergency kits. They were actually a generic kit for a sub especially if that person had to be an individual not certified in the area. So... we put kind fun
stuff that all went together in one fun theme. We chose the theme treasure hunts. We had an old story from a previous basal that we ran off and stapled together so the person wouldn't need to go in search of the old reading texts. We ran off a copy of the lesson plans that accompanied it as well as a few work sheets for skills from the old workbook. It just so happened we had a Scholastic
News that ran an article on treasures. It was included. There was a few treasure hunt papers in the Mailbox Magazine that related. We included a story called Ghost Town Treasure by Clyde Robert Bulla for a read aloud. a
s luck had it I stumbled on to some math facts drill pags that went along with the treasure hunt them. They weren't always exactly the level I may have been on but worked just fine.
It's not my point that yu would necessarily use these but find some old things someone did that kids enjoyed and put in a plastic container all ready to go. If they are theme related in any way every time you find something that would fit throw it in. What grade is this for? There were other things included I forget them. If you really want to know I can find them and get back to you!
