Yeah it's normal!

Hey NY - YES I do feel exactly like that. I was lucky enough to get a long term placement last year for the whole year in the same classroom. Not so this year. I am really subbing - new schools every week and i was very
nervous about it too. We have a sub line that calls us and we have about 5 seconds to accept the job or decline it (Most of the schools I had never even heard of and they were inner city near rather rough areas of town). I just had to get in that frame of mine where I accepted a job every day no matter what. and I am here to tell you that it has been a very interesting experience.
Some good some bad. I keep a school journal/calendar and keep notes on every school I go to. At the end of the day when I write my note to the teacher I either sign my name with phone number and say call me anytime or I just sign my name (no phone number)and make a note in my calender to avoid the school if possible. So far I only have 2 schools (out of 10 that I really dont want to return to). Remember anyone can "get through one day" - thats the way I thought about it. (Only one time did I feel that I might go insane before the end of the day because the kids were absolutly awful) If I hate it I dont have to go back. (I have that option - I dont know if you do or not but we can decline a sub job through the automative system and it doesnt count against us.) Good luck and give it shot - I have subbed for many schools in the inner city that I admit I was really nervous about but ended up loving!
