Thank you for your words of support because I sure needed to hear them. I spent the last two days putting together the ultimate sub box and feel that there is no way anyone walking into my room can complain because it is| so laid out as well as being self-contained. I have a few more things to add to it and then I will place it in my room with a note taped to my podium that tells of it's location. I remember what it was like to walk into a room and not have what I needed to keep the students busy doing what they were supposed to do and the frustration involved and all I want is to not have a sub come into | | my room and feel the same way. I wish not having him in my room was an option but he is a permanent sub who is there daily while working toward his teaching certification. I do feel that I have eliminated any complaints he can possibly come up with and will show the teacher who (will go into my room when she sees I have a sub)will show where everything is and offer any assistance needed. If you all can give me any advise on anything to make the day go well for the sub then please offer it! I even made little envelopes with a note of appreciation and money for the soda machine down the hall. And I have a small collection of movies next to my VCR that I use when I stay after hours to work and indicated that the sub can watch during planning time. Of course I left a small note that says the students are not to be shown these movies for any reason. Anyhow, thank you for the support and hopefully the next sub in my room has a better experience.
