Here are a few suggestions:

1. If you don't have a problem with your class, talk to there teacher. What does he/she suggest? Do have this problem? What does he/she do to control it? Ask those kind of questions.

2. Explain
to the kids that they need to come to class on time. How far is it from their teacher's room to your room? Set a resonable time for them to get there. If they don't get there on time, they have to stay in for recess for a certain amount of time.

3. I teach fifth grade. I tell my students that if they don't complete an assignment, they get a zero. Automatically, unless they were

absent, etc. I still have them turn it in though, and it needs to be in before they take a test. If they have their test taken within a certain amount of days, they get a 0 on the test.

4. You said you had problems with them being wild, etc. I have never did this in my classroom, but my mom was a teacher and she did this, I guess it would work, but I wouldn't want to do it! She use to tell her students if they didn't behave, their parents would have to come to that class with them for a day. If the kids misbehaved, the parents got called and had to come to that class with the child! She said they behaved better when the parents were their! She also said that if the parents couldn't make it, refused to come, forgot to come, etc., the child was not allowed to enter the classroom that day and would get a 0 on whatever they did. I don't like the mangament techinique, I would bet it might come with complaints from parents, but hey your welcome to try it! Good Luck!
