By What I look for in a teacher a

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been on contract and am a sub. I am 90 percent request only and I have worked hard at this. I would like to tell you what requested or just a day to day experience teacher is looking for.

I like that you leave detailed
plans. This is helpful and I might add that if you do not want your papers graded just indicate that in your plans. You also seem to appreciate us.

What would make me want to sub for you?

I am extremely thorough so I like lesson plans that are complete but also leave me flexibilty to adjust the day as fluidity is necessary.

Post your supervision schedule and don't switch duties

or prep periods with other teachers unless you have a good reason. I don't go back for teacher that pull the switcheroo on me.

Register, plans, safety procedures are essential as well as any medical conditions I need to be aware of.

I like going in requested for a teacher that cares who is in her classroom. This allows me to not only get to know the children but also the initimate details of your schedule. It is also of great benefit for the children. Ask your class, your colleagues! Feel free to contact the person who was in your class if you have questions.

I never sugarcoat things as I rarely have a bad day due to being requested as I know the children. I document everything and take care of matters. You will receive a full documentation usually positive.

What you will get like I said is a teacher who really knows your class and school inside and out.
I guess it is up to you as to request or not. I know that when I am on contract if at all possible after a visit from a teacher I will request as I like to know and appreciate the person who is in for me.
