If you wouldn't mind, what is the plan you worked out about cliquiness? It drives me crazy! I get all the moaning and complaining whenever I assign partners because they want to choose and I'm not going to let them choose| because they will pick a friend that they always have to be with, instead of meeting new people! Plus, I don't want anyone to feel left out. The teachers decided last week that on the day before Thanksgiving Break, we would do mini-classes. These classes would last an hour apiece, we start school at 8:00 and they will start at 8:30, the last one ending at 2:30, and we end at 3:00. Each | | teacher would pick classes to teach each hour- they could all different ones or the same ones. The students get to pick 3 choices for each hour, and will be given one for that hour (they will be picked by the three, and no student will get the same class twice, unless they put a star next to that class, then we might give them the class twice). So, I passed out the the forms for them to pick their classes, and they wanted to walk around the room to see what their friends were picking and then choose the same ones! When I said, no, they wanted to go to the other 5th grade room and see what their friends in the other classes were choosing! When I said no to that, a bunch of them started to complain! I couldn't believe it, so I asked them why they wanted to walk around the room and see what other's were choosing- their response was they want to be in the same class as their friends! Then I said "Don't you think that you should choose the classes you want, that you like, and not worry about who's in it? This could also be a chance to meet new people!" They got angry at that and it ticked me off!
