Grow UP!!!! By AP

I'm so sick and tired of so-called professionals, whether they be teachers or businesswomen, complaining that they can't dress well. Nor do I buy the incessant whining "It's to hot". Your bare legs aren't attractive!!!! | Nor are your exposed feet!!!!! That's what's really "yucky". Show some self respect to yourself and others...it's not all about you and your personal comfort!!! Dress the part of a professional. If it means long dresses or pants and knee highs, so be it. But don't be parading around like tramp or a hippie with skirts, sandals and bare legs. It's a big deal. Why, you ask? Take | | a long, hard look at today's fashion and "style" that kids and young adults wear today. I cringe at the hip huggers that reveal a woman's "crack" when she bends over, the flip flops that reveal unkempt feet, the sound of sweaty feet sticking to sandals as a woman walks, the low cut halter tops they wear. What ever happened to being a lady? Women claim they do not want to be treated like objects, yet they dress like it more often now. I'm embarrased when I have clients walk into my office at a professional firm viewing the slop that casual dressing has become (and how are office is afraid to say anything, probably due to being afraid of harrasment charges). Honestly, is the Britney Spears look really appropriate in the real world? It's more revealing than ever, and your helping to perpetuate that look!!!! Being a teacher is much more than imparting knowlege to eager young minds, you're also a role model, like it or not (and if you don't like it you shouldn't be teaching). I agree teachers are SEVERLY underpaid, and need to get a lot more respect and support from parents. I personnaly have invovled myself in areas where I could make a difference and spoken out on behalf of teachers (after all my mother is one). But dressing like a slob or a tramp does not help your cause. Find a brand and style that is comfortable FOR you and put the hosiery back on. I've written my peace.
