Problem teacher By BN

Eventually this guy will trip himself up and end up in deep trouble. Just be patient and teach your classes and remain professional.I do have a suggestion that might work for Mr Problem's lack of constructive comments | at parent conferences. Get a notebook and take notes on what each teacher is to do. Get together with the other team members not the problem teacher and tell them you are going to start taking notes at all the team meetings. You will write down what everyone has agreed to do.The purpose is two fold. This is a good way to keep organized and present a well thought out discipline /academic plan | | to parent.(And hopefully help with Mr Problem teacher.)Then next time there is a parent conference have a meeting first and tell Mr Problem you are taking notes for organization and to present a plan to parent.Have everyone state their concerns and what they feel should be brought to the attention of parent. Then agree on three or four points that need to be discussed with parent.Write down what Mr Problem concern and read it back. Mr Problem is going to say such and such to the parent. Miss W will talk about homework etc.Hopefully Mr Problem teacher will stick to what was agreed to at the meeting. This technique works well. Talk it out and write it down. After jobs/responsibilities are agreed to and written down there is very little conflict about what was said or who agreed to do what. It's all in the notes. Then if Mr Problem says anything different you can say at our team meeting this is what you agreed to discuss at the conference. Maybe when Mr Problem realizes the team has a plan he'll think twice about saying or doing anything different. I don't know if this will work in your situation but when I worked with a team we took turns taking notes at meetings. It made it easy for us to remember what we agreed to do, where we left off, and what we wanted to work on etc. We also had a record to show what we were working on to our department head.
