I incorporate my guided reading time into my rest and read time. During this time (about 35 minutes), I work with small groups of readers (1-4 kids) while the others are either resting or reading selections from their literacy boxes, which contain books that we've already shared together and their environmental print (words they've collected from home that they can read).
