You will love 5th grade! I agree that you should absolutely purchase "The First Days of School" by Harry Wong. I bought it this year, and even though I've been teaching 15 years, I found many useful ideas and suggestions. For new teachers, it is an invaluable resource, a necessity. I wish I'd had it 15 years ago! GOOD LUCK!
