I also do a monthly newsletter. I put in a paragraph about what we will be studying that month, a description of the monthly "home" project, upcoming dates for assemblies or special events, a wish list of supplies and any other relevant info. I use Microsoft Publisher which has easy to use templates that you can save. I like the idea of having students involved but so far it has been easier to do it myself. It takes about 1/2 hour a month.
