Try Louis Sachar's Marvin Redpost series. I especially like, Marvin Redpost, Why Pick on Me. It's entertaining but has a good message that your third graders will get. It could be the beginning of a great conversations about bullying. I've found some really readable biographies at Barnes and Noble lately. They are called History Making Bios. I bought the Wright Bro. and Amelia Earhart since 2003 is the 100th year of flight. They are all by different authors. Happy Reading!
