First thing in the morning
By CG

Clip to ScrapBook
You could do a morning journal type activity like with Daily Oral Language (you write a sentence with mistakes on the board and they correct them in their journal) or a complete the sentence type of journal that they can dry a picture of when they finish. Or do some review math problems in a journal. I find anything that they can do independently and expand on (like draw a picture or write your own sentence if you finish early) works well first thing in the morning.
