1st day math
By Mary Ann

Clip to ScrapBook
Just some quick ideas off the top of my head. You could assign a number to each letter of the alphabet, a=1,b=2, and so on and have the kids add up the total sum of the letters in their names. You could do first only, first and last, and see who's name has the greatest number. You could put the kids into teams and have them add up their birth dates, or phone numbers, or addresses. You might introduce them to a 5 minute multiplication test.
