reading buddies, yes!

My kindergartners LOVE the afternoons spent with their 4th grade buddies. At our first meeting, the buddies discuss family, pets, and favorites with each other as they each color in a related section on a buddy survey. These pages are cut apart and place in a decorated buddy bag which the kindergartners bring home to share. We work together to do an M&M math sorting/graphing activity, which both groups love. The 4th graders often share science experiments with my class. It is so heart-warming to see the friendships develop between the grades!
