Come on in and park it!!

I used this theme at the beginning of the year for my sixth graders. I made a large mural out of butcher paper of several different colored cars and trucks and pointed them to my classroom outside my door. Made small different colored cars out of construction paper and wrote the incoming students names on them. The students loved to see their name and it wasn't too cutsy for 6th graders. Or, you could let the students pick their vehicle after they arrive. I took their picture and hung it by their car as students arrived.
