departmentalization

At my current school, we teach in three teacher pods. (fourth grade) We have a Math, Science teacher, a Reading, Social Studies teacher, and a Language,Spelling, and Writing teacher. It worked out well for us, however I prefer two teacher pods. In that set up, one teacher taught Math, Science, and Social Studies, and the other taught Reading, Language, and Spelling. I prefer to teach in pods because my strength is Math and I feel, I do a much better job teaching the subjects I am enthusiastic about and interested in, and this enthusiasm comes across to the students.
