math word wall
By Sue W.

Clip to ScrapBook
Great idea! I am a Title I Reading teacher but we have a big push to get math scores up so I am trying to integrate math words into our reading practice. At second grade, particulary for the kids who are behind, I would include
number names,
ordinal numbers,
process names; add, subtract,
names of geometric figures, orientations and related processes; above, below, symetrical, rotate, flip, etc.,
word problem terms/phrases; how many in all, how many are left, etc.
comparisons; greater, less than, equal
Terms used in directions in your math series; compare, rank, etc.
