poker chips By Louise

I have taught 6th grade for the past several years and poker chips worked great. If a child was not following directions or misbehaving I just drop a chip on their desk. The first and second chips were a warning and the third was a detention. Only several times did I make it past two. Also at the end of class I recorded how many chips they had, even if it was zero. After 20 zeros they could go in the prize box (pencils, candy, erasers, no homework pass) It worked great and I did not have to stop my lessons to correct a behavior.
