Clip to ScrapBook
I did a biweekly newsletter. In it I included a story written by a student, short exerpts from their journals, student of the week, homework assignments, birthdays, super spellers and a trivia question. It sounds long but it all fitted on a legal sized paper. I also made a big deal about putting it in their mailboxes and giving them a few minutes free time to read their "newspaper" The students loved it and also the parents. I had a parent write me a very complimentary letter because she loved the idea so much. She said it kept her up to date on what was going on in the classroom.
