I make my kids write out the homework on a sheet of paper- to turn in.... so they have to listen and follow along- I also kept a Homework log- a 3 ring binder- each kid had their own page. they had to write the excuse of why they did not have the work in the first place... these are GREAT in parent conferences- like "my mom said I didn't have to" or "we were at Wal Mart all night" - and if nothing else- it is a great source of entertainment!! They always come up with something hilarious! And of course some kids had multiple pages where others were blank!
