How about "Heroes of the Bible"? You could have Samson, Queen Esther, Moses,Jonah,King David, etc. as decorations and have writing lessons about what makes a hero in our eyes and in God's eyes. Have the students look through the prophets to find a hero that they can look up to. I think a hero theme would appeal to 4th grade boys.
Since boys that age love creepy crawlies, how about BUGS?(Being Useful on God's Sphere?)(Bringing Understanding to God's Sphere?) You could decorate with all kinds of bugs and use the theme to study life cycles, habitats,food chains, conservation, and taking care of the Earth.
