Word Walls
By Ramona J.

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been using a word wall since I started teaching 4 years ago. At first it was difficult for me because I had never used it before. But it has gotten easier and I love word walls. We use words from the counties high frequency list(not all of them), words that children have trouble with in Guided Reading groups, words that come up in Math, Science and Social Studies lessons, and words that come up in any other situation. Most times the word should help students get to other words. The book called "Phonics They Use" by Patricia Cunningham is a great resource! You should get it! Hope this helps!
