Touring the school the first day with Kdg.

Each year we start with a type of scavenger hunt. I give them a clue in the classroom which leads us to the first room. Each child has an envelope to collect treasures along the way. The office hands out a sample of the daily attendance slip, the nurse a bandaid, the computer teacher a die cut of a computer, the art teacher a piece of drawing paper, and the librarian a bookmark. The last clue takes us back to the classroom where I have a small treat for them. When the children go home they have the small "gifts" to share with the parents. It helps the "we didn't do anything today"!
