butterflies and tadpoles
By Susan/5th

Clip to ScrapBook
I was the one that mentioned hermit crabs earlier, and later posts reminded me of the butterflies and tadpoles we "grew" in our classroom. My students thought they were so cool!! We released the butterflies on the playground after a week. The tadpoles took longer to grow, but some students got them from a ditch by their house, so we just bought food for them (PetsMart sells it) and watched them thrive in an aquarium (lower the water as they change). You can release them back where they came from or in the woods near your school (if you have woods like we do!). It was a learning experience for all of us!
