4th grade discipline
By Stacey

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi and congratulations on beginning a career in education. My advice is do not expect one system to be the only one that works, try more when one doesn't work. My favorite with hard to manage upper grade children is the color card system which I also attach points to that allow them to earn rewards based on points. It is progressive discipline, with office referral as the last resort. The other key thing to remember is that you must keep the parents involved. Weekly progress reports are a must in upper grade. Reward good behavior as much as possible and it should begin to change the other unwanted behaviors. Good luck and remember to ask for help as much as possible!
