Dress Codes and uniforms

I agree that dress codes are needed to prevent students from wearing totally inappropriate things (gang-related, obscene, or skimpy) but some schools have taken it over the line! I know a district that requires students to wear only khaki, navy, or white, yet they don't have uniforms. Please! Don't get me started uniforms! I agree with an earlier poster. I always loved choosing clothes for school and I want my kids to be able to wear the nice things I buy them. Why buy them nice clothes if they can't wear them? Hardly any "post-college" jobs require uniforms (except medical ones). Even with uniforms, kids know whose families have money and who has more stuff. Uniforms does not get rid of that!
