I agree with jie. Don't wait for the H.S. to drag along the middle school in their activities. Make your own! I am sure you are not the only M.S. Teacher that feels the way you do. There is strength in numbers!
Plan or have the PTA plan an all middle school fundraiser and get those supplies you need.
Middle School is the foundation of H.S. I think that it is during Middle School that students make the decision about whether or not they even like learning.
If you let the H.S. teachers make you feel like you are second rate, you will start to believe it. DON'T! You sound like a very caring teacher!
