My best advice is to look at everyone else- as far as faculty goes. Also- how does your administration dress. Mine is SOOOO fashionable- but doesn't expect us to be. I just finished a week long workshop in which 1 teacher wore shorts- like workout shorts and a t-shirt everyday. she stuck out like a sore thumb. Everyone else was in capris and looked professional. we have some very young staff members who wear flared, faded, stylish jeans on Fridays- but still aren't accepted as the norm- check out your dress code- some schools don't allow certain things such as capris and open toed shoes. I would want to blend in but be individual- if that is possible- sounds like an oxymoron! Sorry for rambling!
