I usually look around my room and think about all of the things I need taken care of in the morning (for example: turn the computers on, put the date on the calendar, complete the lunch count, etc.) and all of the things that need taken care of at the end of the day (turn the computers off, erase the boards, pass out papers, organize the bookshelves, etc.). These become my jobs! I have morning and afternoon jobs, so usually everyone in my class has a job. I think it's important that everyone does something to contribute to the classroom and learns some responsibility! Most of my kids like the jobs, and they actually complain if they end up not having a job one week!
