one thing we do...

In the past, we have provided a school bus for parents to come to conferences (the ones that dont have transportation). Also, our alternative education teacher and guidance counselor set up workshops and have even had workshops at the local church for these parents.

As far as my classroom goes...I have done monthly newsletters and what we call Friday Feedback Forms. These forms have spots with each school rule (we have 6) and sections for 4 weeks. All the teacher needs to do is to slash (/) the box next to a rule that needs to be improved upon. There are lines for parent/teacher comments. The students know that their forms are due on Monday. :-)
