First day "Ideas"

You will love fifth grade. I'm an oldie in the fifth grade(34 years), and I still get excited about the first day of school. One activity I do is to make a time capsule. You can use whatever type of container you want(Pringles can is good)
and then I have them fill out a questionaire.
Likes, Dislikes, favorite subject, food, books,
music,least favorite subject. Hobbies, what you do in your free time,etc. These give you a good idea what the students are like. Put them in the can and at the end of the year have them do the survey again. Pass out the ones from the beginning and let them compare to see how they have changed.
